Contentsquare pricing in 2026 has two published plans and two quote only plans. Experience Analytics Free covers up to 200,000 sessions a month with 5 percent of sessions replayed. Growth runs from $49 a month for 7,000 sessions to $739 a month for 200,000 sessions, with 20 percent off on yearly billing. Pro and Enterprise, which add form analysis, APIs and up to full replay capture, are sold only through sales, and third party contract data puts the average deal at about $10,900 a year for mid sized companies and about $172,000 a year for enterprises.

The published numbers come from the live Contentsquare pricing page, read in October 2026. The contract averages come from SpendHound, a spend benchmarking site, so treat them as a negotiating reference, not a quote. Below is every tier, what actually changes the bill, why the jump from Growth to Pro is so large, and what the same traffic costs on a tool with published prices all the way up.

Two lines in that table decide most budgets. Growth captures replays for only 15 percent of sessions, even though heatmaps and analytics still count every visit. And anything above 240,000 sessions shows "Let's talk" in the price picker, so a store that outgrows the 200,000 session tier has no online option left.

How much does Contentsquare cost per month?

Contentsquare costs nothing on the Free plan, $49 to $739 a month on Growth billed monthly, and $39 to $591 a month on Growth billed yearly, depending on sessions. The Growth ladder is $49 for 7,000 sessions, $69 for 10,000, $99 for 15,000, $159 for 30,000, $279 for 60,000, $409 for 100,000, $569 for 150,000 and $739 for 200,000. Pro and Enterprise have no list price.

Yearly figures apply the 20 percent discount shown on the Contentsquare toggle and are rounded to the dollar. Hotjar is now sold as Contentsquare Experience Analytics, so the same ladder appears when you price Hotjar; our Hotjar pricing breakdown lists every step in between.

How much does Contentsquare Pro or Enterprise cost?

Contentsquare does not publish Pro or Enterprise prices; both are quoted after a sales conversation. SpendHound's contract data shows an average of about $10,905 a year for companies with 50 to 1,000 employees and about $171,936 a year for companies above 1,000 employees. Your quote depends on traffic, the modules you add and contract length.

The gap between those two averages is the clue. A mid sized brand that only needs full replay and form analysis on one site lands near the low end. A large retailer that adds the Experience Platform modules, several sites, app analytics and premium support lands in six figures. When you go into the call, know three numbers: your monthly sessions across all sites, how many of them you need replayed, and which modules you would actually open every week.

What usually pushes a team from Growth to Pro

  • Form analysis. Field level form reports are not on Growth. If checkout or lead forms are where you lose people, this alone forces the conversation.
  • APIs and alerts. Growth has no API, so findings cannot flow into your warehouse, Slack or ticketing setup automatically.
  • Full replay. A 15 percent sample is fine for browsing, but support and QA teams need the specific session a customer complained about.
  • Volume. Above 240,000 sessions there is no self serve price at all.
  • More projects and longer access. Growth allows 3 projects and 2 months of replay access.

What else adds to a Contentsquare bill

The analytics plan is only part of the invoice. Surveys and feedback now live in a separate Voice of Customer product, with Growth at $99 a month billed monthly or $79 a month billed yearly. If you want richer feedback programs than that, many teams pair their analytics with dedicated survey software that collects answers by text, voice or video rather than paying for a second Contentsquare module. A/B testing is an add on for Pro and is bundled into Enterprise, and AI features such as Sense Analyst are positioned as Pro add ons.

Budget for the time cost too. A Pro or Enterprise deal typically means a discovery call, a scoping session, a quote, a redline round and a security review. For a team that needs replay and form reports on one store this quarter, six weeks of procurement is real money.

Is Contentsquare worth the price?

Contentsquare is worth it for large brands that use the whole Experience Platform: native app analytics, built in testing, revenue attribution and conversation intelligence across support channels. It is harder to justify for a single website that mainly needs full session replay, form analytics and an API, because those sit behind a quote that averages five figures a year.

Growth is fair value if you record under 200,000 sessions, a 15 percent replay sample is enough, and nobody needs form analysis. At $327 a month billed yearly for 100,000 sessions it is cheaper than most dedicated recorders. The value drops when the missing piece is exactly the one Pro adds.

Contentsquare pricing compared with UserExplorer

UserExplorer publishes every price up to 2 million sessions and includes full replay up to the plan limit, form analytics on every plan and an AI researcher that reads the recordings and answers questions with the replays that prove each finding. It records websites and web apps only, and it does not run A/B tests, so it is not a replacement for the full Contentsquare platform.

On monthly billing Contentsquare Growth is cheaper at low traffic. On yearly billing UserExplorer is cheaper at 10,000 and 100,000 sessions and has a published price where Contentsquare asks for a quote. All plan limits and seats are on the UserExplorer pricing page. There is no free plan; a one time demo of 500 sessions or 7 days lets you check the data on your own site first.

How to get a better Contentsquare price

  1. Measure sessions first. Pull 90 days of sessions per site from your analytics so the quote is based on your traffic, not the vendor's estimate.
  2. Decide your replay rate. Most teams do not need 100 percent capture on every page. Full capture on checkout and signup, sampling elsewhere, cuts the number.
  3. Only buy modules you will open weekly. Testing, app analytics and conversation tools add up quickly if they sit unused.
  4. Bring a published comparison. A competing offer with a list price, such as the tiers on our Contentsquare alternative page, gives procurement a concrete anchor.
  5. Negotiate term and renewal caps. Ask for a cap on renewal increases and for unused session overage to roll into the next period.

Frequently asked questions about Contentsquare pricing

Does Contentsquare have a free plan?

Yes. Contentsquare Experience Analytics Free covers up to 200,000 sessions a month with heatmaps, funnels and basic analytics, but it replays only 5 percent of sessions, at most 10,000, and keeps replay access for one month. It suits a first look at behavior, not ongoing replay research or support work.

Is Contentsquare more expensive than Hotjar?

They are now the same price list. Contentsquare acquired Hotjar, and hotjar.com pricing points to Contentsquare Experience Analytics, so Free and Growth cost the same whichever name you sign up under. The higher costs only appear on Pro and Enterprise, which were never part of the old Hotjar plans.

Does Contentsquare charge by sessions or pageviews?

The published Experience Analytics plans are priced by monthly sessions, from 7,000 on the smallest Growth tier to 200,000 on the largest. Quote based Pro and Enterprise contracts are scoped on traffic volume as well, plus the modules, number of sites and support level you add.

What is the cheapest way to get full session replay without Contentsquare Pro?

Use a recorder that captures every session on its published plans. UserExplorer records every session up to the plan limit from $49 a month billed yearly for 10,000 sessions, and includes form analytics and funnels on the same plan, so you do not need a custom contract to get full replay. See the session replay page for how recordings are filtered and masked.
