Lucky Orange pricing in 2026 has five tiers, priced by monthly sessions. Build costs $32 a month billed yearly ($39 monthly) for 3,500 sessions, Grow $72 a month billed yearly for 10,000, Expand $199 billed yearly ($249 monthly) from 50,000, Scale $839 billed yearly ($1,049 monthly) from 300,000, and Enterprise is a custom quote from 700,000 sessions. Every feature is on every plan, there is no free plan, and new accounts get a 7 day trial.

Those figures come from the live Lucky Orange pricing page, checked in October 2026 on both billing toggles. Review and pricing sites still quote a $10 Starter plan, a free tier with 100 sessions, or 5,000 sessions on Build, which are older versions of the price list. Below is the current lineup, the add ons that change the bill, the real cost per year, and what the same traffic costs with a tool that reads the recordings for you.

Two details are easy to miss. The plan cards open on yearly billing, so the first numbers you see ($32, $72, $199, $839) are paid once for the whole year. And Expand and Scale say "starts at", which means 50,000 and 300,000 sessions are the entry points of those tiers, not their ceilings. If you record 120,000 sessions a month you will be quoted more than $199.

How much does Lucky Orange cost per month?

Lucky Orange costs $39 a month on monthly billing for 3,500 sessions, $249 a month from 50,000 sessions and $1,049 a month from 300,000 sessions. Billed yearly, the same plans work out to $32, $199 and $839 a month, and the 10,000 session Grow plan is $72. Volumes above 700,000 sessions move to an Enterprise quote.

The "-20%" label on the toggle holds across the lineup, so the yearly saving is the same for every plan. What changes with size is the price per thousand sessions, which falls fast once you pass Grow.

PlanCost per year, billed monthlyCost per year, billed yearlyYearly cost per 1,000 monthly sessions
Build, 3,500 sessions$468$384$109.71
Grow, 10,000 sessionsAbout $1,080$864$86.40
Expand, 50,000 sessions$2,988$2,388$47.76
Scale, 300,000 sessions$12,588$10,068$33.56

The gap between Grow and Expand is the one to plan around. Grow stops at 10,000 sessions and Expand starts at 50,000, so a store growing from 12,000 to 20,000 sessions a month jumps from $72 to at least $199 a month on yearly billing, nearly three times the price for less than twice the traffic.

Is Lucky Orange free?

No. Lucky Orange does not have a free plan in its current price list. It offers a 7 day free trial with full access to every feature, Discovery AI included, after which you pick a paid plan. Some review sites still describe a free tier with 100 sessions a month; that plan is not on the official pricing page anymore.

Seven days is short for behavior analytics. A shop with 3,000 sessions a month records about 700 visits in a week, and at a 2 percent conversion rate that is around 14 buyers. Plan the trial so the script goes live on a normal traffic day, and decide in advance which two or three questions you want answered before it ends.

What every Lucky Orange plan includes

Lucky Orange keeps the packaging simple. The pricing page says all features are available on all plan levels, and the comparison table lists the same set on Build, Expand and Scale:

  • Dynamic heatmaps and session recordings
  • Unlimited surveys and announcements
  • Live chat and the live visitor view
  • Conversion funnels and page and form analytics
  • Unlimited team members

That is a fair amount of tool for a small store, and the live chat in particular is something most recorders do not offer. You do not pay more for features as you grow. You pay for sessions, storage and sites.

The add ons that change the bill

Three items sit outside the plan price, and each one is easy to overlook in a quick comparison.

  • Discovery AI. The comparison table marks Discovery AI as an add on on every plan, while the trial banner says it is included in the trial. Treat it as an extra cost after the trial, and ask for the price before you depend on it.
  • Data storage. Base storage starts at 60 days on every plan. Upgrades to 90, 180 or 365 days are offered, without a published price. Comparing Black Friday with last year's Black Friday needs the 365 day upgrade.
  • Additional websites. Extra sites cost $5 per site per month. A brand with a main store, a wholesale store and a blog adds $10 a month.

Is Lucky Orange worth the money?

Lucky Orange is worth it for small stores that want heatmaps, recordings, surveys and live chat in one script, with unlimited team members, at $32 to $72 a month. It is a weaker fit once traffic passes 10,000 sessions, where the next tier starts at 50,000, and for teams that need more than 60 days of history without paying for a storage upgrade.

The bigger cost is the one no pricing page prints. A recording tool sells you data, and someone still has to watch it. At 50,000 sessions a month, even a 1 percent sample is 500 recordings. If a marketer spends five hours a week on that, the time costs more than the $199 subscription. Discovery AI helps surface patterns, as an add on. The other route is a tool where the analysis is part of the plan.

Lucky Orange pricing compared with UserExplorer

UserExplorer prices by recorded sessions too, with replay, heatmaps, funnels and form analytics on every plan and an AI user research assistant included, not sold as an add on. You ask a plain question, such as why mobile checkout dropped last week, and it reads the sessions, ranks the causes by how many visits each one hurt and links the replays that prove it.

700,000 and upEnterprise, custom quoteEnterprise, $1,999 a month for up to 2,000,000, SSO

UserExplorer monthly billing is $99, $499, $1,499 and $3,999 for the four plans, and every limit is on the pricing page. Data is kept for 3, 6, 12 or 24 months by plan, so the yearly comparison does not need a storage upgrade on the larger plans.

Where Lucky Orange wins, plainly: it is cheaper under 5,000 sessions, it includes unlimited team members on every plan (UserExplorer gives 3 seats on Startup and 10 on Growth), and it has live chat. UserExplorer has no chat, so stores that move usually keep a separate AI chatbot for the website to answer shoppers while the replays show where they got stuck. Neither tool records native iOS or Android apps.

Which Lucky Orange plan do you need?

Start from your monthly sessions in your web analytics, not page views. One session is one visit, however many pages it covers.

  • Under 3,500 sessions. Build at $32 a month billed yearly covers you, and it is hard to beat on price for a store this size.
  • 3,500 to 10,000 sessions. Grow at $72 a month billed yearly. At this volume UserExplorer Startup costs $49 billed yearly and includes the AI analysis, so compare the two on what you need answered, not only on seats.
  • 10,000 to 50,000 sessions. The awkward zone. Lucky Orange has no tier between Grow and Expand, so you either cap recording or pay from $199. UserExplorer Growth covers up to 100,000 sessions for $249.
  • Above 300,000 sessions. Scale from $839 on Lucky Orange, or UserExplorer Scale at $749 for up to 500,000, both billed yearly.

If you already pay Lucky Orange and the reason you are reading this is the jump from Grow to Expand, our Lucky Orange alternative page walks through the switch, including running both scripts side by side for a couple of weeks so you keep a baseline.

Does Lucky Orange charge for extra team members?

No. Lucky Orange includes unlimited team members on every plan, and that is one of its real strengths. You pay for sessions, data storage upgrades, extra websites at $5 each and the Discovery AI add on, not for the number of people who log in. Agencies and stores where many staff watch recordings benefit most.

How to keep a Lucky Orange bill under control

  • Pay yearly only after the trial proves the data is useful. The 20 percent saving is real, but it locks in the tier.
  • Exclude internal traffic, staff and bots before you size the plan, so you are not paying to record your own team.
  • Record the pages that make money first: product pages, cart and checkout. A session replay of a blog visit rarely changes a decision.
  • Price the next tier before you need it. If you are at 9,000 sessions and growing, the move from Grow to Expand is the number that matters for next year's budget.
