Mixpanel pricing in 2026 is free up to 1 million events a month, then Growth is billed by event volume: about $100 a month at 1.5 million events, $438 at 5 million, $840 at 10 million and $1,635 at 20 million when billed yearly. Monthly billing costs more, from $140 at 1.5 million up to $2,289 at 20 million. Above 20 million events, or for SSO, anomaly detection and custom retention, you talk to sales.

The figures below come from Mixpanel's own pricing page, read in November 2026. Mixpanel changes tiers from time to time, so confirm on mixpanel.com/pricing before you commit. This article answers the question a buyer has: what will I pay at my event volume, and which limit sends me to the next tier.

Mixpanel pricing at a glance

Events a monthBilled yearly, per monthAbout per yearBilled monthly, per month
Up to 1M$0$0$0
1.5M$100$1,200$140
5M$438$5,256$613
10M$840$10,080$1,176
20M$1,635$19,620$2,289

Between those points Mixpanel steps up in tiers, roughly $73 to $85 per extra million events on yearly billing and $102 to $119 on monthly billing. Seats are unlimited on every plan, which is a real advantage over tools that charge per user.

How much does Mixpanel cost per million events?

On yearly billing Mixpanel costs about $67 per million events at 1.5 million, $88 at 5 million, $84 at 10 million and $82 at 20 million. Monthly billing runs about $93 to $114 per million. The first million events are free, so small products can stay at zero for a long time.

What is included on the Free plan?

The Free plan covers 1 million events a month, unlimited seats, 10,000 session replays, 1,000 monthly experiment users, up to 10 active feature flags and five saved reports per seat. It does not include the query API, data warehouse connectors, custom properties, report level permissions or SSO. Session replay history is kept for 30 days.

Where Mixpanel plans push you to pay more

  • Session replay volume. Growth includes 20,000 replays a month. More, up to 500,000, is an add on and the price is not published.
  • Replay history. Free and Growth keep replays 30 days. A longer or custom window needs Enterprise, from 7 to 360 days.
  • Data Pipelines and Group Analytics. Both are paid add ons on Growth and Enterprise.
  • Governance. Anomaly detection, root cause analysis, data standards, HIPAA tools and a custom retention policy are Enterprise only.
  • Event growth. More instrumentation means more events, so the bill rises when a team adds tracking, not only when traffic rises.

Is there a startup discount?

Yes. Mixpanel lists a Startup Program for companies founded fewer than five years ago with up to $8 million in total funding that have not redeemed other offers. The first year is free on the Startup plan, which the page lists at 1 billion events and 1 million session replays. After that you move to normal pricing.

Is Mixpanel worth the price?

For analysts who live in event queries, cohorts and retention, yes. The free tier is generous and unlimited seats make it cheap to share. It is less convincing when the real job is fixing a leaking signup or checkout, because a chart shows where users drop and not what they saw. That needs recordings with enough history, form data and someone with time to watch, and those sit in add ons or in your own hours.

What a flat plan costs for the same job

UserExplorer is priced per plan, not per event. The first plan covers 10,000 sessions at $99 a month or $49 billed yearly. The next covers 100,000 sessions at $499 a month or $249 billed yearly, with surveys and profiles. The next covers 500,000 sessions at $1,499 monthly or $749 yearly with API access. Replay, heatmaps, funnels and field level form analytics are in every plan, replays are kept 3 to 24 months, and an AI researcher reads the recordings and reports why visitors drop off with the replays that prove it.

Mixpanel wins on event depth, experiments, flags and warehouse sync, and UserExplorer does not try to match them. The case for adding UserExplorer is that you stop guessing about the cause of a drop. Once that is clear, the pages that do convert need traffic, and an AI blog writer that researches keywords and writes SEO articles can feed them.
